Hey everyone! Our time in Albania has gone by so fast so here is a dump of everything that has been happening.

This season has been teaching me what it  looks like to do everyday life with God. Albania felt very normal in a lot of ways, and that actually made it so encouraging. It showed me that following Jesus isn’t just for big moments or church settings, but for real life. Watching people live for Christ in such a normal place helped me see what faith can look like in the real world.

Albania has been so much about learning how to hear God’s voice. One day we had an ATL day, and we went to a coffee shop. While we were there, we met some tourists and got the chance to share the gospel with them. It was really cool to see how God opens doors in simple, normal moments. We also spent a lot of time praying for the church here and for our ATL team in Macedonia.

During this time, God has been teaching me how to get over the fear of man and worrying about what people think of me. I’ve been learning how to face that fear and choose obedience instead. God has been showing me what it looks like to obey Him even when it feels uncomfortable or scary.

One day in , we set up a booth in the town square with the church. The whole goal was to love people and invite them in. We gave out tea, coffee, candy, Bibles, and cards. We also had face paint and balloons for kids. While the kids were playing, we were able to have real and intentional conversations with their parents about God. It was such a sweet and special time.

Another big thing God has been teaching me is how to be interruptible. One night on our way home, we met a guy and ended up having dinner with him. We spent the whole dinner talking about what he believes and what we believe. By the end of the night, we got to pray over him. He ended up blessing us and even paid for our dinner, which was so unexpected and kind.

We met some of the best people in Albania. Everyone has been so kind and wanted to spend time with us outside of ministry. We got to go peoples homes and just spend sweet time with everyone. It made saying goodbye was really hard but hoping we can come back one day. ( when it is warm) Yesterday, we took a seven-hour bus ride to North Macedonia, and now we’re here for two weeks staying in a hostel.

Something crazy already happened here. Last night, we were talking to another girl staying in the hostel, and she told us she’s from the Czech Republic. I told her I’m from California, and she said her daughter went to school there. She pulled out her phone and kept calling and texting her daughter until she found out what city she lived in. She said Victorville, which is where I’m from too! I ended up talking on the phone with her daughter to see if we knew the same people.

This season has been full of learning, trusting God, and seeing Him move in both the small moments and the big ones. Continue to be praying for our team as these two weeks are ATL we do not have plans in Macedonia. Pray for the lord to speak and for all of us to have clarity on what he says! Thank you guys! Merry Christmas Eve!

  1. Acts 16:9-10
9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 And when Paul 1 had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.”
You’re following in Paul’s footsteps. What a blessing are the feet of those who bring good news. I know God has something special planned for your time there.
His revelations about who we are in Him will continue to unfold throughout your whole life. Just when you think your relationship with him can’t get any better. He will show you how large and extravagant His love for you is.
Keeping you and your team uplifted in prayer.
Can’t wait to hear how this stop in your journey has glorified the Lord.
    Much love, Aunt Judy

  2. Hi Kayla,
What a beautiful lesson about life with Christ that he is teaching you. It’s one He has taught me many times over. Life walking with God, no matter what happens, always just seems to go so much better than going it alone. Whenever we stray from the path, although at first we may not notice the difference, life becomes a challenge I just don’t want to do on my own. God is faithful to always remind me that He is right there, never changing or failing in His love for me. He is gracious to forgive, love and guide me again in His ways. Much love sweetie!

  3. What a small world!! So proud of you Kayla! Keep up the great work! Continuing to pray for you and your group! Praying the Lord keeps you all healthy and safe!
    Love you girl! Ganette 😉

  4. Merry Christmas, love! I am so proud of you. Hearing about your journey and the growth you are going through makes me so happy. I wonder if the girl who lives in Victorville goes to my school. Wouldn’t that be a kick?

Hello everyone, thank you so much for coming on and supporting me in my journey with The World Race. I will be going on The World Race expedition 11 month trip designed to challenge my faith, grow my relationship with God, and bring hope of Jesus to the nations. During my 11 months I will be going to Guatemala Albania, Greece, Turkey, South Asia and Nepal. Every day on the world race looks different some days will be packed full with construction, VBS, building relationships with orphans, or praying for the sick at a hospital. Some days could be slower like shopping for groceries, cooking for the team, and spreading time praying for the community we are walking through. I am so excited for what God will be doing in these 11 months.
