Hey everyone!!!
We’re already in our last week of ministry. What! I have no idea how it went so fast 2 months already down Time has flown by so quickly. Now I’ve been reflecting on all that God has done in us, through us, and around us. Every week has had challenge, joy, and transformation, but this past week especially reminded me of how deeply God weaves connection and purpose into everyday encounters.
A few days ago, Ressie Mae and I had such a fun and unexpected day in hobbitanago. It was a little village based on a movie and we felt like we were playing fairies. The whole time. It was like our childhood a dream lives out. If you ever find yourself in Guatemala, we definitely recommend feeling here! After the day we called an Uber and we realized our driver actually spoke English. We got talking and He told us he was a Seventh-day Adventist and was here working at a hospital, helping manage kids’ diets in local villages. As we drove, he began opening up about his life, sharing stories of heartbreak and sadness from his past. That moment turned into such a beautiful conversation about faith. He talked about how his relationship with God has carried him through so much, and how he believes that connection with God is the most important thing in his life. We were able to share about our own walks with God and how He’s been faithful even when things don’t make sense, how He heals, restores, and provides joy in unexpected ways. By the end of the ride we got to pray over him. Being in a country where they don’t speak English is very hard when you are trying to talk to people about Jesus. Every time we run into someone who speaks English it’s always a gift from God because we are able to completely share without a language barrier.Moments like that remind me how God is constantly working, in conversations, in car rides, in places we least expect Him to show up.
Another thing that’s deeply impacted me lately has been the prayers of the kids in our ministry. When they pray, they say things like, “I pray for the kids who don’t have homes,” or “I pray for the kids who are hungry and don’t have families.” Their prayers are so pure, so selfless, and so convicting. Many of these same kids don’t have concrete floors or sturdy roofs over their own homes. Yet their hearts overflow with gratitude and compassion for others who have even less. It’s humbling and beautiful to witness faith like that faith that sees God’s goodness despite the lack, and thanks Him anyway.
As we wrap up this final week and head into debrief, my heart is full. I’m thankful for every conversation, every laugh, every prayer, every child’s smile. God has been faithful in ways I couldn’t have imagined, and I’m so excited to carry these stories, lessons, and relationships with me wherever He leads next.

It is so exciting to see the work that he’s doing around you and through you all. We love the knowledge that God is in every encounter whether we realize it or not and we just have to see it. Love you all so much and can’t wait to see what’s next in store for you.
